Immaculate Heart Radio is blessed with hundreds of volunteers who give of their time and talent at our pledge drives, events, and even in their own parishes as Parish Ambassadors. These generous listeners play an important role in our mission to spread the Good News of Christ to all the world – we couldn’t do it without them! Each month we will introduce you to a volunteer who inspires us by their example of dedication and service.
This month, we want to introduce you to Ann Baker.
Ann volunteers at our quarterly pledge drives and weekly at our Loomis office! She recently shared about her experience volunteering with Immaculate Heart Radio:
I listened to IHR for almost 2 years before I stepped forward to help out at a pledge drive. I had grown to love and depend on hearing the IHR programs so I felt compelled to volunteer. It turned out to be such a gift and I wish I had gotten involved earlier. I began volunteering weekly as I live close to the station. There are many small tasks that need to be done since IHR clearly pays attention to detail in not only running their business but how they attend to their listeners. As a volunteer, I get to participate in the daily Rosary or weekly Mass with the staff. It became clear to me that IHR is the real deal when I heard them reading each individual prayer request at the Rosary. We pray for all the listeners intentions but if you have a special prayer request, it will be specifically noted and prayed for during the Rosary.
I am a stay-at-home mom and really look forward to helping at the station. The staff are kind and made me feel part of the family. No matter what task they have for me to do, they all show great appreciation and I feel valued. Being a listener-supported station, I fully understand how much they depend on and value their volunteers, such as Parish Ambassadors, who are out in the community promoting Catholic radio. As a busy mom, I feel that choosing to give my time to IHR has not only helped me to better integrate my faith into my daily life, but is helping strengthen the Catholic Faith far and wide in a society that needs to hear this message.
Thank you Ann, and all our volunteers who give of their time and talents for Immaculate Heart Radio! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Nicole Cardin, at firstname.lastname@example.org
