Thousands of pro-life advocates flooded the streets of the nation’s capitol today to mark the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in America. Despite temperatures dipping into the single digits, the crowds marched in honor of the 55 million unborn children who have been lost to abortion since Roe v. Wade.
Patrick Kelly, chairman of the March, told the crowd:
“We may be freezing, but we are freezing for the best cause in the world!”
This year’s March had a strong social media presence, with hashtags such as #PraytoEndAbortion, #whywemarch, and #marchfor life trending throughout the day. Even Pope Francis tweeted his support for the March, saying:
“I join the March for Life in Washington with my prayers. May God help us respect all life, especially the most vulnerable.”
