Little boy steals pope’s heart – and his seat

During the celebration of the family in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, Pope Francis was joined on stage by a number of children – including a little boy who refused to leave the pope’s side. Despite the efforts of several cardinals to usher him off the stage, the little boy insisted on staying with Pope Francis, even hugging the pope’s legs as he gave ┬áhis address to families. Pope Francis seemed delighted by the little boy’s playfulness. Below is a video of some of their interactions.

Not shown in the video is how Pope Francis got the little boy to sit still – by sitting him in the papal throne!

“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 19:14
